South Albania: UNESCO Sites & the Riviera
Eight days that trace Albania’s south from Tirana’s Cold War bunkers to the turquoise coastline of the Riviera, with stops in Ottoman old towns, thermal springs, and two UNESCO World Heritage sites along the way. Slow enough to actually taste the country, not just pass through it.
Day by Day
Day 1: Cold War Stories & Tirana's Urban Vibe
We start in the capital with two of its most striking Cold War landmarks, the House of Leaves and Bunk'Art 2, before settling in for the night at Sky Hotel 2.
Day 2: Heights & Lakeside Serenity
Ride the Dajti Cable Car for views over Tirana, visit Bunk'Art 1, then drive to the shores of Lake Ohrid and the Shën Naum Monastery, ending the day in Pogradec.
Day 3: Art, Music & Mountain Spirit
Korça's Old Bazaar, its cathedral, and a local brewery fill an afternoon full of character, with a stop at the Drilon Springs along the way.
Day 4: Tradition & Taste
A day built around Albania's culinary heritage, from a traditional sofra in Kolonjë to a farm-to-table dinner at Farma Sotira.
Day 5: Nature's Spa & Culinary Heritage
Soak in the Benja Thermal Baths before a relaxed walk through Përmet, a town built around slow living and good food.
Day 6: Ottoman Elegance & Living History
Gjirokastër's UNESCO-listed castle, bazaar, and the Skenduli House bring Ottoman-era Albania to life.
Day 7: Myths & Ancient Civilizations
The turquoise Blue Eye Spring and the ancient ruins of Butrint National Park (UNESCO) make for one of the most memorable days of the trip.
Day 8: Coastal Legends & Mountain Farewell
